Keep your email friendly, polite and respectful!

1. Introduce yourself! Explain your personal reasons for caring about Hazelwood mine rehabilitation

2. Outline your concerns, such as:

  • Engie packing up and leaving without properly cleaning up
  • The mine pit becoming a polluted, unstable pit lake
  • Damaging the quantity and quality of water flowing through the Latrobe River, or the impact on the nearby Gippsland Lakes
  • The project taking too much water from local rivers
  • The impact on native vegetation and wildlife

3. Encourage John Bradley from DEWLP to keep the local community at the forefront of the minds of officials during the EES process.

4. Ask for DEWLP to release the schedule for public consultation so people in the community can be prepared to respond
